Aphasia + Stroke Exercise for Answering Yes or No

– aphasia
– survivors
– yes/no

So many people with aphasia and survivors of stroke in my conversation classes have a hard time answering yes when they mean yes, and no when they mean no. Aphasia can make a word come out that you did not mean and I can’t imagine how frustrating that can be.

In the aphasia and stroke exercise in this video, you can respond to 6 questions about “hot springs”, a recent discussion topic in my aphasia conversation class.
Practicing yes when you mean yes and repeating this for a few minutes can really help if you have aphasia or are surviving stroke.

I find people practice too many things and don’t pinpoint the specific skills they want to improve. Doing so can really help people with aphasia make faster speech progress!

Been to a hot spring? I would love to know!

Stroke Best Overnight Diapers

Adult overnight diapers are designed to handle higher volumes of fluid and are available in a variety of different absorbencies so that you are sure to find one with enough capacity to match your level of incontinence.

At least 60% of nighttime leaks are due to poorly fitting products. If there are gaps at the legholes or openings due to a large belly, no amount of absorbent material in the incontinence product will counter a poor fit. Finding the right fit is essential for maximum protection and is a key part of selecting an overnight adult diaper. When choosing an overnight adult diaper it is important to consider the size, absorbency, and positioning of the product.

Another consideration for your choice of adult overnight diapers is wearability-how it feels against your skin. Our goal is to help our clients find an overnight adult diaper that feels the most similar to regular underwear. Finding a comfortable fit with the right amount of coverage is essential for all-night protection.

Some overnight diapers might feel more comfortable to you than others; for instance, you may find that the waterproof material on the outside of some styles makes you feel overheated, or due to dexterity and mobility, you might prefer pull on styles or a design with a tab closure. Overall, the type of product you choose should be based on your individual needs and preferences.

While reusable overnight briefs do exist, our experts state that for those prone to skin irritation, disposable types are definitely a better option. Keep in mind that to really protect the skin, adult overnight diapers should be used in conjunction with a protective skin barrier product and, for cleansing, a no-rinse cleanser or cleansing wipes are better than soap-gentler and more effective.

The best overnight diapers will make you more comfortable, provide a sense of security, protect delicate skin, keep bedding dry and keep you from waking up. As with most disposable briefs, overnight briefs are padded with cotton and other materials that attract and absorb urine.
